Astronomical References

(0 votes)

Some studies have focused on the possible astronomical references and numbers that offer the complex and its location: the most important is the position of the church, which marks the spot where the sun rose on 1 November of the year 1100, according to some scholars taking account of the anniversary of the day dedicated to all the saints, from which it takes its name from the church. In the days of equinox the sun's rays strike a capital, belonging to one of the columns of the front porch, on which is carved the figure attributed to the Egyptian goddess Isis; on the day of the winter solstice, the sun strikes instead a cruciform pillar, always placed in the porch.
